Los Angles has a wide variety of nightlife designed to suit the most particular and | or the simplest of tastes, from ultra trendy bars and nightclubs to comfortable family places, to the more seedy side of nightlife. A walk down Sunset Boulevard after dark is an experience that you will never forget, a melting pot of lifestyles, sights and sounds that can be found in few other places.

Because of the high number of movie and television stars in Los Angeles, it is not uncommon to see one or more of your favorite personalities having dinner or enjoying a show when you have a night on the town.

In that bars in Hollywood and the surrounding area must adhere to a relatively high standard, health codes are rigorously enforced and establishments are required to post a health rating at the entrance of their establishment to inform the public of their health score. Because their health score must be posted, most establishments go out of their way to keep spotlessly clean in an effort to receive the highest possible health code rating.

There are a wide mixture of bars and clubs in Hollywood and Los Angeles, including several British and Irish pubs, most with live music. Since Hollywood is a magnet for would-be actors and actresses and singers and musicians of all types, the bars and night clubs have their pick of talent to showcase.

The range of types of clubs and discos is staggering. It is difficult to imagine a style, from ultra, ultra faddish to grunge that is not represented somewhere in LA or Hollywood.
Plus, as there is a tremendously large alternative population within Los Angeles, many of the clubs cater towards their niche of clientele.

Comedy clubs are also popular, with at least half a dozen large clubs to choose from and dozens of smaller, more obscure comic venues.

Movie theatres are, as you would expect in the movie capital of the world, on almost every corner. Many theatres in Hollywood and Los Angeles premier movies before they are seen anywhere else, and it is possible to find preview screenings of films sometimes months before their general release, and your reactions at the previews can even affect the final cut of the film!

Coffee houses abound in LA and are becoming the newest hangout for many of the trendy set. For those on a more health-conscious bent, North Hollywood is also known for its smattering of tea shops and nutritional supplement centers.

No matter what kind of nightlife you’re looking for, LA is large enough and diverse enough to have exactly the type of venue for which you are in the mood.
